Summer 2021 Update

Summer 2021 is here, and although hopes were high about the end of lockdowns and Covid-19 restrictions, sadly they are still with us.
As yet, our Monday morning sessions at the Cedar Centre are yet to restart. There was some discussion about whether to restart in June with the proposed ending of official restrictions, but it was felt that with Covid still with us and with some members or members' families having to be cautious about other health problems, it was a bit too soon. We will keep things under review, and hopefully things will start looking better soon.
We have also not yet resumed Thursday evening demos, or the weekend workshops. Those who booked a workshop for 2020 are still signed up, so as and when we can rearrange them we will let you know, and hopefully you can still come along whenever the new date is.
Castor's summer festival, and hence the summer art show, also won't be going ahead this year.
In the meantime, please keep on sending in photos of what you have been working on for our gallery.
Something you might like to try is to challenge yourself to do a painting a day, or a painting a week, and see how you get on. The website Wet Canvas has a great thread about this, done a few years ago, where artists good and not-quite-so-good posted their results. In fact the Wet Canvas website generally is a very interesting resource for amateur artists, particularly its forum pages.
Keep painting, and have fun!
