The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss arrangements for the art event at the St Kyneburgha's 900th anniversary celebrations.
The first weekend is the open art weekend on 22-23 June. In terms of practicalities, we need access to the Cedar Centre for the kitchen and toilets, although we thought it would be nice if refreshments could be served in the church rather than the Cedar Centre. Richard will contact the school to ask them about being involved. We can't supervise children at the open weekend, so anyone attending would need their own supervision (e.g. a parent). In the Cedar Centre we have a limited number of chairs and tables, and we can provide a bit of art material, such as paper and pencils, but people should be asked to bring these to be as self-sufficient as possible.
The middle weekend, 29-30 June, is the exhibition in the church. Di has asked the church and they have said yes, but she said she would remind David about it, just to make sure everything is OK. We will set up on the Saturday morning, aiming to be ready from about 10am. It was suggested we might put everything in the Lady Chapel, which is out of the way of the main church, and has places to stand up pictures etc. We will ask artists to provide a few easels, it was thought that with places to stand works up, about 10 free standing easels should be enough. We will take things down on Sunday afternoon, so artists can collect their works then, or they can be removed to the Cedar Centre to be collected on Monday morning.
The final weekend, 6-7 July, will be our usual main exhibition in the Cedar Centre. We know what we are doing with this now, so it will be the usual arrangements.
Carole has booked Milton Golf Club for our Christmas meal, on Friday 13 December.
